Deletion-Only Draft Editor
Make a draft sharper by identifying cuts without rewriting it in generic AI prose.
September 6, 2026
💡 Use Case
Useful when a professional draft is too long but a full AI rewrite would erase the author's voice.
📋 The Prompt
Act as a ruthless but faithful editor. Review this [email, memo, proposal, report, or post]: [paste draft]. Do not rewrite any sentence. Mark only words, sentences, and paragraphs that can be deleted because they repeat, hedge, over-explain, state the obvious, weaken the argument, or delay the point. Return: 1. the original draft with suggested deletions in strikethrough, 2. a cut list with a brief reason for each removal, 3. the percentage shortened, and 4. any essential idea that would become unclear after the cuts. Preserve my wording and voice; if a passage needs rewriting rather than deletion, flag it but do not rewrite it.
